Costa Rica 2007 Itinera

December 8-15

This December join Fluid Adventures and our great friends at eNRG Kayaking for an

unforgettable trip to Costa Rica. Spend the good half of December in paradise paddling

warm water class III and learning to surf before Christmas. Let our world class guides

and instructors advance your skills in Costa Rican Paradise. Bring the family and

friends as we have paddle rafts for the non kayakers.

After four years of running trips to Costa Rica, eNRG has dialed in the program and partners for an ideal low cost expedition. New for 2007 we are announcing our Costa Rica Surf and Boof expedition. It has been designed to spend the least amount of time in transit, and the most amount of time on Costa Rican rivers and surf. We've cut costs for the trip and are extremely excited to announce a price drop of over 25%. Our 8-day, Quepos-based Costa Rican Surf & Boof Expedition is now only $1,500! Join us this December 8th-15th for warm water, lush jungle, great ocean waves and fantastic class II-III whitewater.

Day 1 – Clients will fly into San Jose, Costa Rica. Clients will be picked up outside customs at the airport by an eNRG representative and shuttled to our hotel in Alajuela. The afternoon will be spent organizing gear and regrouping. A wonderful Costa Rican welcome dinner will end a long day traveling.

Day 2 - Ocean kayak/Surf warm up paddle

The day will begin with a drive from San Jose to Quepos, where we will have lunch before starting our trip with a warm up paddle/surf on the ocean. This will be a kayak skills check up and assessment. After the paddle we will come back to the hotel and to dinner where we will discuss our plan for the week.

Day 3 - Rio Parita (Class II)

Today we will warm up with a paddle down the Rio Parita. This incredible journey will meander through the palm groves at the foot of the coastal range. This easy half day trip will be our whitewater check in, and will be exciting for those that have never paddled past fresh water American crocodiles. The afternoon will be spent in Quepos or on the coast surfing.

Day 4 – Rio Naranjo (Class II-III)

Today we will get a chance to paddle the Naranjo River. After a tour of the organic tea farm put in, beginners will paddle the lower (class II), while more intermediate paddlers will get a chance to paddle the middle (class III+). Lunch will be at one of the best local “sodas” in town.

Day 5 - Surf lessons

After breakfast we will spend the entire day on the beach learning to carve the 78 degree pacific swell in kayaks, or standup surf boards. This will be a great opportunity to relax and prepare for more river paddling.

Day 6 - Canopy tour

Today we will get a chance to explore the jungle of Costa Rica by swinging through the trees in the canopy tour. This 10 element zip line system allows you a birds eye view of the valley and the mountains. Following the zip line we will swim in a fresh water spring along side rainbow eucalyptus trees. This activity takes the entire day, but is so fun it cannot be past up!

Day 7 - Rio Sevegre (Class II-III)

In the morning we will head to this years pinnacle river day. The Rio Sevegre is one of the most scenic rivers on the west coast. It is the cleanest watershed in all of Costa Rica, and is home to several native Scarlet Macaw pairs, Toucan’s, white-faced monkeys, and pristine Central American Jungle. This day stretch is a phenomenal run that will challenge our entire group. For those looking for a rest day you can relax at the rivers mouth at Playa Manuel Antonio, one of the best surf beaches in Costa Rica. That evening we will travel back to San Jose.

Day 8 - Clients will fly home from San Jose.
